Where the Desert Meets the Spectacular
Nevada is a state that refuses to be ordinary. Stretching across the Great Basin, it serves up vast silences and blazing neon in equal measure, with impossibly clear skies arching over mountain ranges, salt flats, and ancient volcanic fields. Whether you arrive for the bright lights or the backcountry, Nevada has a habit of surprising you.

Las Vegas Beyond the Strip
Las Vegas is much more than its famous boulevard of casinos and shows. World class restaurants, boundary pushing architecture, and a gallery and arts scene centred on the Arts District give the city real cultural weight. Day trips from the city reveal the red sandstone wonders of Valley of Fire, the cool waters of Lake Mead, and the sheer drama of Hoover Dam.
Reno and the Northern Wilds
The Biggest Little City in the World punches well above its weight with a thriving food scene, a clutch of excellent museums, and instant access to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. Skiers, hikers, and mountain bikers have an embarrassment of terrain on offer, and the region turns golden each autumn in ways that stop travellers in their tracks.
Ancient Landscapes and Open Roads
Nevada holds some of North America's most extraordinary scenery away from the crowds. Great Basin National Park shelters ancient bristlecone pines and a limestone cave system. The Extraterrestrial Highway stretches through the remote high desert past the mythology of Area 51. And every year the Black Rock Desert draws tens of thousands to Burning Man, one of the world's most audacious creative gatherings.
