About Bolivia.
The Roof of the World
Bolivia sits at staggering altitude, with the Altiplano plateau stretching between two Andean ranges at over 3,600 metres above sea level. Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake on earth, straddles the border with Peru and has been sacred to Andean peoples for millennia. The surreal salt flats of Salar de Uyuni cover over 10,000 square kilometres and create mirror effects after rain that blur the boundary between sky and ground, producing one of the most photographed landscapes anywhere on the planet.

Where Jungle Meets Mountain
Bolivia is one of the most ecologically diverse countries in South America, dropping from icy Andean peaks through cloud forest and into the humid lowlands of the Amazon basin. The Madidi National Park in the north is among the most biodiverse protected areas on earth, sheltering jaguars, giant river otters, and hundreds of bird species. Rurrenabaque serves as the gateway to both pampas wildlife tours and jungle expeditions, drawing travellers who want raw, unmediated contact with nature.
Living History in Stone and Street
Sucre, the constitutional capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage city of whitewashed colonial architecture and cobbled plazas, while Potosi preserves the legacy of the silver mountain Cerro Rico that once bankrolled the Spanish empire. La Paz tumbles down a vast canyon with a cable car network connecting its steep neighbourhoods and offering panoramic views across the snowcapped Illimani peak. Markets overflow with textiles, coca leaves, and craft in a country where indigenous Aymara and Quechua cultures remain very much alive on the streets.
Adventures at Every Elevation
Few countries offer such variety within a single journey: cycle the world's most dramatic mountain road down the Death Road from high Andes to subtropical valley, ride across the infinite white expanse of the salt flats at sunrise, or take a slow river boat through Amazonian forest. The Jesuit Missions of Chiquitos in the eastern lowlands are a lesser-visited architectural treasure, and the Valle de la Luna near La Paz offers an otherworldly landscape of eroded clay spires just minutes from the city.
