About Andorra.
A Kingdom in the Clouds
Perched high in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, Andorra is one of Europe's smallest countries and one of its most dramatically situated. At an average elevation of over 1,000 metres, its valleys and ridgelines deliver scenery that punches well above its size. Medieval stone villages cling to slopes dusted with pine, rivers rush through narrow gorges, and on a clear day the views stretch so far it feels like the whole of southern Europe has been laid at your feet.

Snow, Slopes and Seasons
Grandvalira, one of the largest ski areas in southern Europe, anchors Andorra's winter appeal with over 200 kilometres of piste, reliable snow cover, and slopes suited to everyone from nervous beginners to seasoned freestylers. Come summer, those same mountains transform into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers and trail runners. The GRP long-distance route loops the entire country, taking in glacial lakes, high passes and the kind of quietude that urban life rarely offers.
Shopping, Spas and the Good Life
Andorra la Vella, the tiny capital, has earned a reputation as a shopping destination that belies its population of around 23,000. Low taxes mean perfume, electronics, spirits and sportswear are consistently cheaper than in neighbouring countries, drawing day-trippers and weekend visitors in droves. After the retail therapy, Caldea beckons: a vast thermal spa complex fed by natural hot springs, with indoor lagoons and outdoor pools overlooking the mountain skyline. It is restorative in the most literal sense.
History Written in Stone
Andorra's co-principality governance, jointly held by the Bishop of Urgell and the President of France since 1278, is one of the most singular constitutional arrangements in the world. Romanesque churches dot the valleys, some dating back to the 11th century, their simple stone towers a counterpoint to the busy ski lifts overhead. The Casa de la Vall, a 16th-century manor house that served as Andorra's parliament for centuries, offers a glimpse into a political history as enduring as the mountains themselves.
